Coach Otto Addo To Boost Backroom Staff For 2022 World Cup
Otto Addo, Ghana’s interim head coach will boost his backroom staff for the 2022 FIFA World Cup later this year in Qatar,
Addo is set to be handed the Black Stars job permanentlly after an agreement has been reached between the Ghana FA and German side Borussia Dortmund.
The 46-year-old will put pen to paper to sign a 18-month contract which will see him lead the Ghana national until the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The Dortmund trainer scout was the interim coach when Ghana qualified for the World Cup ahead of Nigeria after winning the two-legged tie during the play-off in late March.
Coach Addo will maintain the current technical team and add a few more for the Mundial in Qatar this November.
He will add more experienced video analysts and medics and physiotherapists for the global showpiece which starts November 21 and ends in December 18, 2022.
Addo will begin preparations for the World Cup next month where Ghana will face Madagascar and Central Africa in 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications and also a four nations tournament in Japan.
The Black Stars have been drawn alongside European giants Portugal, two-time World champions Uruguay and South Korea in Group H of the World Cup.
Ghana will take on Portugal in the opening group game on November 24 before South Korea in four days time in the second group fixture.
The last group match is against Uruguay on December 2, 2022.
